Teton XKF Series pressurized bead filters — mechanical and biological filtration in one sealed vessel, sized for koi ponds from 2,500 to 9,000 gallons.
Teton names each XKF model for the largest pond it is rated to handle, so an XKF-6500 is a 6,500-gallon filter. Inside, semi-floating bead media traps solids while hosting the nitrifying bacteria that convert ammonia and nitrite. A multiport valve on top switches between filter, backwash, rinse and bypass, so cleaning is a lever pull rather than an afternoon.
Choose your model
- XKF-2500 — ponds to 2,500 gal · 4,200 GPH max flow · 100 lb fish load · 16" dia × 32" H · 1.5" top valve (2" adapter included)
- XKF-4200 — ponds to 4,200 gal · 4,800 GPH · 150 lb fish load · 18" dia × 35" H · 1.5" top valve (2" adapter included)
- XKF-6500 — ponds to 6,500 gal · 5,400 GPH · 200 lb fish load · 20" dia × 34" H · 1.5" top valve
- XKF-9000 — ponds to 9,000 gal · 7,200 GPH · 350 lb fish load · 24" dia × 43" H · 2" top valve
Good to know
- Media is included and ships pre-installed. The semi-floating bead design and open laterals are what keep backwash effective as the bed loads up.
- No built-in UV. If you run a UV clarifier, plumb it after the filter, not before — clear water lets the UV-C reach the algae.
- Warranty: 2-year limited (Teton); excludes labor, shipping and consumables.
- Size to your fish load, not just your gallons. A heavily stocked 4,000-gallon koi pond is happier on an XKF-6500 than on the model its volume suggests.
