Collection: 2026 Fall Harvest Collection
Every October and November, Tom buys koi at the fall harvest in Japan, farm by farm. The 2026 koi are listed here in batches while the trip is still running, so you can reserve one before it leaves Japan.
New batches go up every three to five buying days, newest first. If nothing is listed below yet, the next batch is still being photographed at the farms. Check back, or tell Tom what you are looking for.
How reserving a harvest koi works
- Check out to reserve. Every koi here is one of a kind. Once you check out, that koi is yours and no one else can buy it.
- It comes to us first. Your koi flies to San Jose with the rest of its shipment, goes into quarantine at our facility, and has to pass its health checks before it goes anywhere.
- The Quarantine Completion Date (QCD) is the first day it can ship or be picked up. Your cart shows the QCD, and the delivery calendar will not let you pick a date before it. If a koi has no QCD yet, you can still reserve it and we will contact you for a delivery date once it is ready.
- Young koi can change as they settle. If yours changes enough to look meaningfully different from its photos, we contact you before it ships.

Buying a koi from a group photo
Most harvest koi are listed in group photos. Each koi in the photo has its own letter and is sold on its own. Pick your letter and that is the koi you get. Every listing has a short video so you can watch the fish swim.
Delivery, pickup and buying more than one koi
- Koi ship by UPS Next Day Air or Southwest Air Cargo, one day before the arrival date you choose at checkout.
- Buying more than one? Orders that ship on the same day are combined into one shipment, and any shipping savings are refunded on shipping day.
- Local pickup is at our San Jose facility on or after the QCD. We let you know when your order is ready.
- Shipped koi are covered by our Live Arrival and 7-Day Health Guarantee.
