Buy Goshiki from Hiroi. The farm sits in Oguriyama, in the hills above Ojiya, and it is the Goshiki house of Niigata: Hiroi Goshiki and Ginrin Goshiki have been taking prizes at koi shows for years and are the fish dealers go there for. Showa, Doitsu Showa, Kohaku, Sanke, Doitsu Sanke, Ginrin Showa, Kikusui and Doitsu Ochiba fill out the ponds, and the range is wide enough that the farm sees steady dealer traffic every harvest.
The farm dates to 1938, founded by Teruchiyo Hiroi, and is run today by twin brothers Kazuyoshi and Nobuaki Hiroi. You will also see it written as Yozaemon or Conias; those are house names for the same farm, and export lists often use Conias.
What to expect: Hiroi's reputation rests on Goshiki and on range, with fish sold from tosai packs up to show-size nisai and sansai. It is a farm for a Goshiki you will still like in five years, or a Doitsu Showa with clean skin, more than for a jumbo Gosanke pedigree.

History
The farm also trades under the house names Yozaemon and Conias, and some export lists use Conias. The JNPA Niigata member list records it as Hiroi Koi Farm Co., Ltd. (ć ŞĺĽŹäĽšç¤ľĺ»Łäş•é¤ŠéŻ‰ĺ ´), Oguriyama 2288, Ojiya.
